Unveiling of the Cooper’s Park Sign Kells

The people of Kells are invited to attend a special event on Thursday, July 10th.
A special display sign to mark the once home of residents at the long-gone Cooper’s Park will be unveiled at the rear of ‘Jack’s’ Pub at the junction of Bective Street and Mullingar Road.
Cooper’s Park, known by many generations as ‘The Croghan’, was once home to 8 families at a time when there was no electricity or running water.
The unveiling of the sign will ensure a precious piece of Kells’ social history is preserved forever.
The event is being organised by Kells Local Heroes, Kells Pride of Place, and Kells Type Trail, with special thanks to the project curator, Mark Smith.
Proceedings get underway at 7 pm on Thursday, July 10th.
