DESCRIPTION:This latest exhibition of new work by Navan based artist Mary Clarke explores the themes of climate change and the environment. Mary’s collection of vibrant\, layered and abstracted images confronts the viewer\, both subtly and directly\, to provoke a reaction. Her work engages with the audience’s imagination\, to stimulate conversation\, in the hope of igniting positive action.Presented by Meath County Council Arts Office\, this collection of thought-provoking photographic prints\, collage and works on paper runs until the 28th May 2025.

SUMMARY:Community Energy Initiative
DESCRIPTION:Energy in our Community\nCKCD wants to hear what you think. We would like to start a community energy initiative. If you want to become more energy efficient and/or help the environment\, come join us to talk about it. \nThis initiative was inspired by conversations among different people wishing to improve their use of energy\, learn more about\, and take advantage of grants coming up relating to energy use and the environment.  Some people feel that there are things that could be done around the community that should be done (e.g. solar panels on community buildings).  Others wish to generally improve things for the environment and are willing to take action but not quite sure how\, or what the best use of their efforts are. \nWe hope to create a local source or group to channel efforts to improve the local environment for all.  An initiative at national level exists to help local groups form their own sustainable energy programmes – sustainable energy communities. \n \nOur meeting on the 24th is to present what’s involved in and what can be gained from having a sustainable energy community in your local community. The first step is to form a local energy community committee.  If you are interested in learning more about the group’s plans\, we hope you will join us on Thursday 24th April. \nCounty Meath’s SEAI local mentor\, Jim Kenehan\, will present the path to formation of and examples of active sustainable energy communities\, followed by Q&A\, feedback and discussion.
