Tailteann Honey: A Sweet Story from the Heart of Meath

It all started with a phone call from Oristown Bog where Gerry’s son was footing turf. Gerry O’Brien was working on the farm when his son rang, urgency in his voice. Gerry dropped everything—and there in the bog discovered a wild swarm of honeybees waiting for a home. With quick thinking and a borrowed box, he guided them to safety. That single hive was the spark that became Tailteann Honey.

Today, Gerry cares for 27 thriving hives, producing rich, natural honey with no additives—just the pure, golden goodness of local wildflowers. His bees are champions of biodiversity, buzzing their part for the land of Tailtiu.

But it doesn’t stop at honey.

Gerry also harvests beeswax—nature’s own gift for soothing and restoring. From this, he handcrafts:
