Teltown House B&B – A Holiday Full of History and Tranquility
Situated on the north banks of the River Blackwater, Teltown House B&B is more of an experience than an accommodation, woven into Ireland’s mythic heritage. Its 17th-century country house location on 290 acres of rolling hills invites visitors to a sanctuary of welcome, luxury, and the opportunity to lose oneself in an ancient, mythical realm.

An Historic Retreat
With its roots going far back in the history of Ireland, Teltown House occupies land that was once the venue for the Tailteann Games, an old festival said to have preceded the Olympics. The place is steeped in myth, with Queen Tailtiú, the goddess who gave the region its name, playing a central role in the mythological history of Ireland.

Staying here means waking up to breathtaking views of rolling landscape and ancient ways, where rock paintings that predate Newgrange, a medieval church ruin, and an ancient cemetery tell the tales of the past. Whether you are drawn to its rich history or the quiet peace of its setting, Teltown House offers a genuine retreat experience.

Luxury Meets Tradition
Teltown House accommodates 8-10 individuals with spacious en-suite bedrooms, three reception rooms, and cozy log fires perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Guests may also indulge in a full Irish breakfast, made from fresh, local produce, to ensure a wonderful morning start.

For people traveling from afar, a mini-bus with a chauffeur service is arranged, with pick-up at airports, so traveling is convenient from the moment you alight from the plane.

Tailtiú Coffee – A Taste of the Past
Among its attractions, Teltown House now also offers a special surprise for guests—Tailtiú Coffee, a café reserved for special occasions (see social media for schedules). Enjoy homemade treats, specialty teas and coffees, and rich hot chocolate while strolling the beautiful gardens, Fairy Trail, and the famous Queen Maeve’s Road of the estate. Pet- and child-friendly, this is a perfect place to stop for families who want to experience the mystical atmosphere of the region.

A Hidden Jewel of the Boyne Valley
Visitors to Teltown House extol the virtues of Renee and the family’s warm Irish welcome, the comfort of the rooms, and the breakfasts that make memories take the form of fresh scones, Irish bacon sliced thick, and just-brewed tea or coffee.

One of the visitors recalled, “We spent only one night in our campervan, but Renee welcomed us with coffee and cake before we left—we will definitely be back!” Another described it as “a home from home, where nothing was too much trouble, even preparing a fresh sandwich and coffee for an early 5 AM start.

Whether you’re seeking a love-affair destination, a family vacation, or a headlong plunge into Ireland’s rich history, Teltown House B&B is not your run-of-the-mill experience.
